either a music shop or a second hand store like cash converters (if you have that) also ebay has quite a few for sale a fender stratocaster is a good one to start with unless you know what you want a music store will be able to help you pick the right one for him they might even give you a deal if you buy other things with it like an amp, picks, strings, strap, stand ect
