I'm not sure about the cinnamon but I do know honey does contain antibacterial properties and it also moisturizes the skin. However, you do not want to use honey that has been heated or has other additives in commercial processed honey. Heat kills the antibacterial properties in honey. Look for honey that is in it's natural state and or organic as found in health food stores. The other thing I would mention is that some people are allergic to the use of honey. If your not sure, I would test it on a small area of your body first, before applying it to your face. You also want to leave it on for at least 15 minutes before washing it off.
Use oatmeal as a facial mask. My sister had bad acne when she used to play sports. All the sweat made her skin worse. Her dermatologist (skin doctor) recommended the oatmeal remedy and it worked wonders. You will need to get dry oatmeal, throw it into a blender to make it fine then take some out and add enough water to wet it. It will become a paste and you just put it on your face as a mask. After 10-15 minutes, wash it off. Do it 3-4 times a week. You can also google recipes for: oatmeal facials. Easy, affordable, and effective. Way better than proactive and all those chemical stuff. Good luck hun!!
A very hot compress, like a facecloth held under hot water and wrung out. Hold it against the pimple until it cools, then repeat a few times. Do that several times a day. I'm not sure how it works but it seemed to get rid of mine faster when I was a teenager. You know, those big hurting ones that appear a couple of days before a big event :)
Cinnamon and honey. Mix it into a paste and put it on acne for 15-20 minutes everyday. It's suppose to help a lot. I haven't tried it yet myself, but I've heard from a lot of people it's very helpful. And what do you have to lose? Honey and cinnamon are cheap :D
Crushed asprin made into a paste with something like honey or water. Basically its made of the stuff in acne face washes, only a whole lot cheaper. You can get more specific instructions on how to do this by looking up aspirin face mask online
Toothpaste, I don't think it's good foe your skin but it works.
