Failing Drama Already

I just started school and I am already having marks docked by my drama teacher.

Why?

Because I am anti-social and won’t let anyone touch me - let alone catch me when I fall.

So, grudgingly I ask: How can I become more social? insert cheery smile here

Just realize that drama (acting) class isn’t reality. When you are acting you are more like in a dream and you’ll eventually wake up and find yourself in the real world where acting and dreaming can’t hurt you.

As to real life, you do need to learn to overcome your inability to socialize. It probably stems from some experience during your first 15 years of life. You need to understand and believe that socializing is necessary for you to have the most enjoyable life you can. Sure, once in a while getting close to someone may hand you a negative event but no big deal. When life hands you a lemon, make lemonade.

You are capable of controlling your destiny, even while socializing. You are strong and competent. Life isn’t easy but it is manageable and worth the effort to make it as enjoyable as possible. Don’t short-change yourself.

        Simply a Rose to brighten your day,         And maybe lessen the cares in your way;         And also, too, to help you to know,         That in knowing you, many others grow!
