What is the best way to explain the difference between convection, insuation, radiation, conduction, and conductor?

Answer #1

Convection = currents in a fluid and gas. insulation = stops most heat/ cold from traveling Radiation = waves. Conduction = particles collide. Conductor = kind of hard to explain but think of metal, copper, things like that (: haha this is the unit I’m on in science right now :)

Answer #2

Conductors are quite the opposite of insulators. Conductors are items by which heat (and cold) and electricity can be transferred, while insulators pretty much stop electrical/heat flow.

Metals and water are conductors (that’s why you get electrocuted when you accidentally drop the toaster in the bath tub full of water while you’re in it). Cloths, and wood are good insulators (that’s why you wear a pot holder before opening the pot, lest you get blisters)

Hope this helps. =)
