How do I dress like I'm from the 1950's?

The charity shop i’m working at are celebrating their 50th birthday today and all of the volunteers have decided to dress up like we’re from the 1950’s and go out fundraising but I honestly don’t know what clothes to wear, how to do my hair, should i wear makeup? What are some 1950’s sayings/phrases? How did they dress in the 1950’s? I’ve kinda left it a bit late but yanno, >: i’m really stuck for ideas, even the smallest of things would help, thanks!

wellll, you can go to the trift store and look for clothes! things like poodle skirts. or skirts that go past the knees cat eye glasses high ponytail polo shirt.

what are cat eye glasses? I have short hair so I can’t have a ponytail. I’ll get a skirt that goes past my knees, thanks! :) but any other tops that could be from the 1950’s? or should i get a dress or something? vintage dresses are in the shop i work at, should i borrow one? but I think they are from the 1970’s. I’m not that good at distinguishing between the decades of clothing y’see.

thats fair enough. and cat eye glasses are glasses that have pointed top corners that kind of resemble cats. and not so muc dresses. poodle skirts are kind of the 50’s trademark. and i font think the top is as important. but something girly and vintage! and short hair is fine, but you have to make it poooofy c:
