Dont know what to write about
I’m starting my own band, and I’d quite like some tips on song writing because I dont know what to write about, the music I like is franz ferdinand and the beatles type stuff
Song writing comes natrually. It’s an awesome talent to have. I luckily have that talent too lol Just write about stuff you, other band memeber or even people who will be listening to your music can relate to. It can be anything - expressing feelings for someone, past experiences good or bad, random stuff you’ve put together, etc… The best way to keep all your ideas straight is to carry a pen/notepad with you everywhere you go. That way if your out and about and happen to think of something that you think would work good for a song, you can write it down while it’s fresh so you don’t forget it.

you CAN turn on song writing…but its not easy…bruce springsteen wrote Blinded by the Light…with a rhyming dictionary…Blinded by the light… ripped up like a deuce another runner in the night…
well its not hard I use two techniques one is when im thinking sometimes I have so much to think about on one topic so I write it down and turn it into a good song the other is I here a word or phrase that would sound like a good song title and work my way with that
what’s up, I’ve been lead singer and lyricist in my bad since I was 12, you can’t just turn on writing a song,you have to right about something your passionate about like writing a love song is best written when your in love writing a pissed off at the world song is best written when your pissed off at the world, lol look at what’s going on in your life right now and right about that. hope this helped good luck and rock on.
