Feed her out of your hand....and then pet her as she's eating...gently. Don't pick her up until you have gained her trust...it's a process, there is no one thing that will do it....it's the time spent (a lot)...and type of time. Whatever a rabbit loves, carrots?? I don't know...but food is a great motivator....bring her a treat 2 or 3 times a day, at the same time everyday. She will start looking forward to your "visits"....pet her while she eats her treat...coo and talk to her....
That nose in the air, the fact that she threatens to bite is simply fear.....you aren't trying to get her to "like" you so much, as to be less afraid.
p
you should not carry your rabbit oftenor if you want to,do it gently, you can scratch his head sometimes...maybe you are disturbing the rabbit when he is sleeping.if he thumps his foot, your rabbit might be afraid or think you may harm him.maybe it will take more time but your rabbit will like you as he knows you better more and more.give his fav food and let him spend some time with you or bring another rabbit so your pet don't feels alone.
I have more to add. The other day i was walking her around with her bunny harness and she got loose and it took over an hour to catch her again. Now she seems to be happier and will let me get closer to her and let me get her out to walk more (with a new and much better quality leash.) Guess she was happy to get a good adventure!
I have had her for a year and if i get near her cage she makes a sqeaky noise and hops away from me. If i try to pet her she sticks her nose in the air and has even treatened to bite me in the past. What can i do to gain her trust?
She is kind of weird, she doesnt like carrots, but she loves clover. i give that too her sometimes. I would love to get her a friend if i could
