Do wireless keyboards and mouses suck?

I’ve heard people complain about wireless keyboards and mouses. But they seem cool. What do you think about them? Get them or not?

Answer #1

I think the idea is great, but you would need a good quality one, and i’ve never felt the need not to have cables, if i have cables, I don’t need to worry about batteries, and its always attached to the computer, and therefore harder to lose

Answer #2

I had a mouse. IT sucked. The thing never worked,it had to be a certain distance from the port for it to work, and id hafta reset it constantly. plus the batteries die like instantly.

i wouldnt recommend it,unless you get one of the more advanced ones =]

I have both and LOVE them. Yes you have to replace the mouse batteries every couple of months but the keyboard has gone a year without changing. If I want to use my desk space, wireless let me move my keyboard totally out of the way instantly. I can also use the keyboard across the room. I raise my monitor up on a Fellowes monitor stand so I just put the receiver under the stand out of the way. And with the mouse there is no damn cord getting in the way. I can imagine where a corded mouse might be better (e.g. young kids around that might walk off with it) but in my kiddie free house its never been farther than a foot from the same spot. Also I do not have WiFi so if that caused problems with interference, … I don’t know what I’d do in that case. Maybe not use WiFi???

Answer #4

yeah, unless u get one of those super expensive mice, it’s completely worthless.

Answer #5

yes they arel cool unitl the batteries wear out!

Answer #6

If you type fast, you will hate your wireless keyboard. Also, if you have gotten used to your keyboard responding in less than half a second, never missing any letters that you type, and always working, DO NOT get a wireless keyboard.

Summary: Wireless keyboards are toys and status symbols. They are a waste of money in an office environment.

About the only purpose they serve is for if you have PC hooked to your TV in your loving room or for a presentation. Even then, you will have to shop around for one with greater than 5 feet range.
