Did God design DNA?

Did God both design the deeply complex, sophisticated and astoundingly constructive code that is DNA, as well as the ten commandments?

Answer #1

yup amazing isnt it…all of his creation ons are founded on wisdom…u can see his wisdom in all his works…and he is the creator of everthing in existence

Answer #2

He did. If you dont believe it ah well. (Being on this site makes me realize thats all I can say.)

Answer #3

Death and sickness had no place in the Garden of Eden, meaning they were suppose to live forever and by health, as in in paradise but when Adam and Eve sinned, they sort of messed that up, resulting in death and sin. so now everyone dies and some people die because of sickness. but when we die we have a choice of where we go.I

Answer #4

Warmheart, There is a high probability that my alarm clock will go off in the morning and that my car will start, etcetera. It is an expectation that I allow myself to have on the basis of verifiable and reoccurring evidence.

If you present similar verifiable evidence of manifestations that took place outside the realm of the biblical narrative in the line of Jesus’ activity and God as the copyrighter of DNA, I will critically investigate and probably raise my expectation to a point that one could refer to as believing.

I can not justify with any dignity to have faith in a highly improbable notion. So far, on the basis of the biblical style, it seems very unlikely that the god of the Bible is responsible for the design of DNA.

Answer #5

“Yes god created everything down to the littlist detail! Its in the bible”

Yes, I am an atheist. However, I consider myself fairly tolerant of things…but statements like this just make me wonder if the person has any thoughts for themself. Moreso the “ITS IN THE BIBLE!!!” part…it just seems like if ANYTHING, AT ALL can be related to the bible, it will, and it will then be accepted as unquestioned truth.

I understand that faith plays such an immensely large role in religion but come on…you have a brain, can’t people even attempt to question their beliefs from time to time?

Answer #6

Thanks for your answers. I think that KingofPop made the best point (again). Bye all.

Answer #7

Yes, He is the Creator of all things.

Answer #8

Well, yes. That is: if you believe in an all-powerful Creator, then designing DNA is part of the package that He provided, together with all the infinite other complexities of the universe. After all, such a being isn’t subject to our human limitations..

Answer #9

If God designed DNA and its replication process, why do we see mutations, copying errors, genetic disorders, etc.?

Answer #10

Yes god created everything down to the littlist detail! Its in the bible

Answer #11

Did he also create smallpox? Cancer? And our immune system?

Actually, my initial question was generated by my notion that there seems such difference in sophistication between the style of communicating vital data. DNA is so much more effective, durable (older) and complex than the inscriptions on the (lost) stone tablets.

One would nearly think that the two concepts have entirely different sources…

Answer #12

only if you beleive in god and what the bible says if not then youll be smart enough to realise that humans wouldnt even know what dna is without science

Answer #13

No self respecting god would be as narcissistic as the writer of the 10 Commandments would have had her be. The “god inspired” Bible knows nothing about DNA or anything else that bronze age tribesmen didn’t know.

Answer #14

Do you have faith that the alarm clock will go off at the preset time, that as you turn the key in the ignition that your vehicle will start, that as you walk one foot in front of another you will not faint and fall down, that when (kids) you arise in the morning you will be met with “good morning” from your loving parents, who by faith loved each other so much that they wanted to share the love with you and have breakfast already prepared, just for you?

That is all that is required, that type of faith.

Jesus has a simple message!

Answer #15

God designed the 10 Commandments so any simpleton could understand them, he left the more complex issues to the scientific minds among us to figure out, makes perfect sense to me.

Answer #16

Silverwings, the scientific minds have figured out that the functions of DNA make God (or any god-creator) redundant. In fact, he would stand in the way of the process, or his existence makes it impossible for the process to function.

Surely that is not in line with your thinking?!

By the way, I take it that you mean ‘any simpleton’ who is gifted with the Holy Spirit’.

Answer #17

Why would God even use DNA & cells? Everything makes more sense if you take god out of the equation.
