Demonstration Speech

I have a demonstration speech in a couple days. and I don’t know what to demonstrate at all. PLEASE HELP!!!

Answer #1

Demonstrate how to make a compass with a dish of water, a cork, a needle, and a magnet.

1). Get a shallow dish of water. 2). Get a wooden cork that will float. 3). Get a large sewing needle and a strong magnet.

Rub "ONLY THE POINT" of the needle across the magnet for awhile repeatedly
   in the same direction.

4). Place the cork in the water, and lay the needle across the top of it.

If done correctly, the cork will turn and the tip of the needle will point to North.

Tip: Get a few needles and a few different size wooden corks to try at home first.

Corks can be purchased real cheap at various hardware stores.
Depending upon how much time you have, you may want to "magnetize" the
tip of the needle really good at home first before you have to give the speech.

It’s real easy to do, interesting, constructive, and a little messing around and you’ll have get it down in no time.

Hope this Helps. Good Luck !

:-)
