Couple or few?

Do they mean the same thing or is couple bigger then a few or is a few bigger then couple?

im in australia and basically its official that when someone says a “couple” they mean 2 and when someone says a “few” they mean 3

kinda like a bakers dozen is 13 a dozen is 12 and half a dozen is 6 etc. hope it helped lol

a couple and a few can be the same thing, like couple of rocks, few rocks… (I dont think couple means two unless it is actually referring to a pair of things, like people dating)

normally… couple means 2… a few means 3 or more… but thats juat what I wan told. but it could be different in other places

I do not know if there is a hard and fast rule, but when I was young, in my home, when Mom said ‘a couple’, it meant two (as in a couple that are dating means two people). ‘A few’ meant three, and more than three was described as ‘several’.

But it could be different in other households.
