Are congestion and sinus the same?

Answer #1

your sinuses can be congested… but they aren’t the same thing lol

Answer #2

nice explanation -_-

so, Nasal congestion is when the nasal passage is blocked from inflamed or enlarged nasal walls (occuring from hay fever, allergies, reaction to medication, the common cold etc.)

on the other hand sinuses are pockets of air (believe it or not) positioned between the bone and tissue (in this case the paranasal sinuses) which can become inflamed and that is called sinusitis. causes are infections, allergies and autoimmune reactions…

You can tell the difference from the fact the pain from sinusitis can temporarily be stopped by pressing on the affected region (if its enflamed) or hurt worse (in case of infection) while the nasal passage is not obstructed….
