Why Can They Say Cocaine On The Radio, But You Cant Male A Reffrence Towards Weed?

I was listening to Eric Claptons “Cocaine” On The Radio And A Song After Had The Word Weed In It And It Got Censored.

Answer #1

cuz the government is more uptight about weed

Answer #2

It might’ve had something to do with the context of the word. The government doesn’t control the radio. Yes, there’s a board that says what should be censored and what should not, but it’s not exactly controlled by the government. And in any case, they would be just as uptight about cocaine as they would be weed; marijuana’s just more commonly used, and it was recently entangled in politics, so it’s portrayed as more of an issue lately.

Answer #3

I hear references to weed on talk radio every day.
