obviously skater shoes are best for skateboarding because they are made for them. chucks are not, they can be okay for skateboarding but they dont have the grip skater shoes do and if they are worn in they wont have any grip and will suck for skateboarding
I heard they are, if your not planning to do any out-of-whack tricks then go with chucks.
