Chocolate questions

I was wondering

Does chocolate give you bad breath? How bout minty chocolate like junior mints?

And

I know that milk chocolate and dark chocolate can kill dogs, what about white chocolate?

Ooo and I thought of another one!

Why is chocolate bad for dogs, but not for humans?

Get back at me =]

Answer #1

Hmm…I am pretty sure chocolate can give you bad breath, even mint chocolate

White chocalate is supposed to bad for dogs too

I’m not to sure why it is bad for them…maybe they just are like anti-chocolate animals! haha I’m not sure, but I love chocoalate! haha

Answer #2

White chocolate isn’t really chocolate.

Answer #3

Yes chocolate is not only bad for your dog, but also toxic to horses, parrots, cats (particularly kittens) and small rodents because of the theobromine found in chocolate which remains in the bloodstream for 20 hours or more and depending on the amount ingested by the animal they may experience epileptic seizures, heart attacks, internal bleeding and eventually death. If your dog has eaten a large quantity of chocolate take them to the vet immediately and the vet with induce vomiting within two hours of ingestion along with an antidote.

If your pet sneaks a tiny bit it’s unlikely they will become ill, but may vomit or have diarrhea. If either persist for more than a few hours it’s wise to take them into the vets ASAP because of dehydration.

Keep the chocolate away from pets! During holidays keep the chocolates and nuts up high where the dog can’t get them or, train your dog to lay on their mat or go into another room.
