Can I move out at 17 in Georgia?

My question is plain and simple. Can I move out of my parents house when I am 17 in Georgia. I have a girlfriend and she is 15 and I am 16 right now. I have a full time job and I go to school also. Same for her. My girlfriends mom will let me move in with them just as long as I kept my job and did what I was told and all of that. My parents are just very annoying and they get on my nerves all of the time. My dad married this woman thats nice but she is very annoying a lot of the time too. My dad and I got into an actual fist fight one night and im just getting tired of all of this. Its stressing me out a lot, and I would just like to know if I can move out of my house without my parents calling the cops or trying to send me away or whatever. Thanks.

Legally, you must be 18 or have an emancipation order from the Court.

GEORGIA LAW:

Age Emancipation petition allowed: under age 18 Age of Majority: 18 O.C.G.A. § 39-1-1

Answer #3

that not true yes you kan move out kall your local percint and get info I am a 16 year old and I am emancipated

Answer #4

If you get emancipated, yes. If not, then no, you can’t move out at 17 in Georgia.

IF you want to get emancipated, the very first step is to talk to an adult & family services lawyer and get professional advice on how to present your case to a judge. Then, if the judge determines your case has merit, you’ll be considered legally and adult, be eligible to pay taxes, rent an apartment and live as a working class citizen :) Joy.
