Can you HELP me with these math problems?

I missed a week of school because I went to Florida for vacation. And my math teacher gave me problems to do, and I’m completley lost & clueless on how to do them. On the worksheet, it just says to solve each equation. And I don’t know how. Here’s a few I’d like help on;

3(2z + 25) - 2 (z - 1) = 78

And then there are 2 problems with fraction I don’t know how to do; (11/3)a - 1 = (7/11)a + 9

(2/5)x + (3/7) = 1 - (4/7)x

I’m not wanting answers. I’d just like to know how to do them.

Answer #1

Ok you have to use the distibutative property. Then combine like terms. And subract and or divide from both sides. Need more detailed answer.

Answer #2

6z+75-2z+2=7

4z+75=78

4z=78-75

4z=3

z=3/4

(11/3)a - 1 = (7/11)a + 9

(11/3)a + (7/11)a = 9+1

121-21/33 a= 10

100/33 a= 10

a=10 x 33/100

a=3.3

(2/5)x + (3/7) = 1 - (4/7)x

2/5x+4/7x=1-3/7

14+20/35x=7-3/7

34/35x=4/7

x=4/7 / 34/35

Answer #3

3(2z + 25) - 2 (z - 1) = 78

so you open up the equation, whenever you have something outside a bracket, you multiply it with EVERY term within the bracket, so starting with the first part

3(2z + 25) = (3 x 2z) + (3 x 25) = 6z + 75

  • 2 (z - 1) = (-2 x z) - (-2 x 1) = -2z - (-2) = -2z + 2

(6z + 75) + (-2z + 2) = 78

like terms together 6z - 2z = 4z 75 + 2 = 77

4z + 77 = 78 4z = 78-77 4z = 1 z = 1/4

CHECK

3 (0.5 + 25) - 2 (0.25-1) = 78 3 (25.5) - 2 (-0.75) = 78 76.5 - (- 1.5) 76.5 + 1.5 = 78 78 = 78
