Answer #4

No, you shouldn’t burst it. The reason is because you can get nasty infections if you burst blisters. HOWEVER if the blister is really getting sore and bad, you should ask your pharmacist or doctor whether you can open it and how you should go about it.

Answer #7

NEVER burst a blister. You can get infections and scars. Go to a dermatologist or your physician and get it checked out. If its painful, growing/spreading, or very annoying, your physician can painlessly remove it. A simple remedy would be to put toothpaste OR honey to dry it up and shrink it.

Answer #8

If a blister is in a place where it is going to burst anyway you are better off lancing and draining it yourself with a needle. To avoid infections wash your hands well and sterilize the needle and the area around the blister with rubbing alcohol. If you happen to have a sterile hypodermic needle laying around than this is best. After lancing it let it drain and if it isn’t draining well you may need to apply a little pressure or to lance it in more than one place. Put Neosporin or similar antibiotic ointment on a bandage to cover the blister.
