how old does my male need to be to breed him?
6 months is normally to young for a male to successfully bred a female. Normally about a year old is a good rule sometimes younger but not much.
There is a good book out called "Whelping a Successful Litter" you may be able to find it at your local library. Our Library carries it.
Ditto to Magichalo, I would wait till over a year, you also want a good temperment and no health issues like slipping of the knees.
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they're ready at 6 months.
