What is box method used to get in math?

I kno u use it when factoring quadtratic equations but does it give you the zeros after u factor it?

Answer #1

Isnt it for division ? o.o

Answer #2

. It is a technique used to solve quadratics (by “factorization”) in which the coefficient of the x squared term is not equal to one (these are slightly more difficult than those in which there is a unity coefficient x squared ). . the technique will allow you to convert something of form:P . a x ² + b x + c = 0 into the form: . ( m x + r ) ( n x + s ) = 0 . from which it is possible to conclude that either: . ( m x + r ) = 0 ….. in which case x = – r / m; or ( n x + s ) = 0 ….. in which case x = – s / n. . If you need to get to grips with the method, I suggest you either read and work through your set material, e.g. “notes” / “handouts” / text book, or work through the tutorial at: . http://funadvice.com/r/bjtl7jmsf3a . . I am not in a position to recommend it as such as I have not read it and can’t really be bothered to check it for errors. .
