Being an author... young?

I love writing. I’ve been writing several stories since I was little. I love english/grammer/ect. So, about a year ago I wanted to write a series. I’m about finished with my first book. I let my family read it and my friends. They all loved it and said, “It was fantastic, ect.” And just to be sure, I let some people I didn’t know, read it. They also loved it. And I also think it’s great.

So, I want to get it published. I’m a junior. Still a teen. Can I still get it published young? Or do I have to wait till I’m at adult age?

Please, help! :)

ichibanarky is right … if the book is good and you can find a company to publish it then your good!

Eragon was written by a 15 year old - just goes to show, age isn’t important.

If the book is good, it can get published.

You DEFINITELY can be an author at any age. You can self publish easily at amazon.com. “Easily” means you do not need someone else’s approval or cooperation, like a publisher. That is, you do not need someone important to decide if it’s good or not. Also, it takes a minimum amount of tools and money … perfect for a teen author. There is a LOT of work to get people to actually buy the book. If you publish on amazon, it will be a great experience and I’m sure you will learn about the realities of the publishing business.

To find out information type in “how to self publish” at google. A friend of mine sells his book for kindles and I have had two other friends self publish books on amazon.

One more thing: I am a pretty good proof reader and would be happy to proof your book if you would like. No charge, of course. :)
