Baseball cleats

My son is 5 years old and starting to play baseball. I bought him a pair of rawlings baseball cleats. They have a flap with two side holes. When I try to tie them using the side holes, so the flap hides the tied laces they don’t tie right, they are too loose on his foot. If I just tie the shoelaces over the flap without hiding them it looks really stupid. How do I tie these darn things so my child doesn’t look silly out in the field?

Too funny ! I just bought the same cletes and I couldn’t figure out how to tie them right too. I did a google search and found this here! Thanks for asking what I needed to know!

I have the same issue! what the f*ck right? There has to be a way to work them proper =/ Well, if I figure it out I’ll be sure to send you the setp by step and if you figure it out first do the same?

I found this on another site from someone with the same problem:

“Lace the shoes up like normal. Then take one lace up through the closest hole and loop in over to the other hole. Do the same thing for the other side. The picture on the shoe box is misleading in that it looks like a single lace through the holes but it’s really two laces. Put the shoes on and then pull the laces tight and down. Tie the shoes like normal but the flap should now be down; just slide the normal shoe-tie underneath the flap as you tie.

“It should be nice and snug with the flap down at this point.”

Hope this helps!

Well I play Basketball and Volleyball, I’m a girl. I don’t even care what I look like whenever I play!! So buy a different pair!! When you find some make sure your son is there to try them on and see if they feel right!!! Also, take the first pair back! If he has allready worn the shoes SAVE THEM for a backup pair!
