If your burner won’t complete a burn, you may have more serious issues than just backing up. Why does it fail? Are you trying to put too much on one DVD or CD? If you are, put less on the burn, and use more than one disk for your backup. If the disk should be big enough, you have other problems. Get ourself an external USB hard drive and back up to that. Next, blow away everything on your laptop and reinstall the operating system and all the software. Once that is done, you can resore your information from the USB hard drive, and everything should work fine. If you have never done anything like this before, you should find someone who will do it for you or who will help you with it. Good luck!
