Which Asian spoken language is hardest to speak/write?

I want to know out which one out of Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese which one is the hardest. I want to visit two of the three if not all three.

Answer #1

Well, I’m learning Urdu right now (official language in Pakistan) and that’s pretty hard, especially the writing part of it because it’s very similar to Arabic.

Answer #2

Well, that is really a question of opinion. Many will say Japanese or Chinese, but they’re not really that hard in actuality. While Japanese and Chinese, (and Korean to some extent) all have the Chinese characters, they are very easy is other aspects. For example Chinese grammar is very easy. Japanese has a syllabary system sort of like an alphabet which makes it easier.

For most people though, I would say Chinese is the hardest just because of the “Hanzi” or Chinese symbols. Also the pronunciation of words is difficult for foreigners as there are 4 tones which are difficult for us English speakers to catch.

Aside from all this, don’t let any of it get you down. If you want to learn an asian language, then go ahead. If you are passionate about learning it then you can learn it. Don’t ever let anyone stop you. I’ve been to told that Japanese is too hard and that 90% of people who start to learn it quit. Don’t be a quitter and learn it if you want to :)

Good luck and if by chance you choose to learn Japanese, I have tons of materials to get you started and I can in fact teach you quite a bit. Send me an email if that’s the case.

Good luck, I hope this helped^^

Answer #3

This question implies that the answerer must know atleast 2 asian languages so he can tell you the a correct answer. I’m not one of them but I know for sure that my language, korean, is quite challenging..

Answer #4

I really want to learn Korean and Japanese, but I’m afraid I’ll get the two confused.

Answer #5

I would say Chinese. In Chinese there is no alphabet and you need to learn a different symbol for each object or word. Speech in Chinese is different from reading writing as well. I am Chinese, and I struggle with it immensely. After years of being put into Chinese class, I still cannot read or write any Chinese.

Answer #6

let me tell you something. I hear a japanese speaking to me in japanaese… I DON-t GET ONE SINGLE WORD so don’t worry about getting confused :) and good luck :) maybe I’ll see you one day and we can have a pleasant korean chat.. who knows? hahah
