308 rifle, bolt action. For long range. 12 gauge mossberg shotgun. and a 45 handgun.

It’s all well and good having a massive stockpile of weapons, but most firearms would be too heavy, noisy or conventional to effectively keep you safe. Especially when you are on the move or have bugged out in a worst case scenario.

If they were available to me I would opt for a LIGHT semi-automatic weapon, preferably one with a reasonably light calibre whilst retaining some degree of accuracy, range and stopping power. That’s a tricky one though, doesn’t leave you with much. But the advantages of a light carbine/rifle would be more ammunition!

For home defence it depends on the situation. If these weapons were kept at home solely for the purpose of defence against ‘infected’ I would opt for a heavier calibre weapon, such as a designated marksman rifle (like the m14) or an assault rifle that could be loaded with various ammunition, like the FN SCAR.

But then of course there is the threat from looters and ‘rival’ survivors, where you would require something with a little more of a ‘spray and pray’ approach, so perhaps the MP5 ( it’s light 9mm ammunition and relative stopping power would actually be useful in a bug out situation too).

I would scrap pistols and shotguns, and chainsaws. Just forget those. If you really wanted a side arm then opt for something easy to draw and with a high magazine capacity, like the Glock 17 (share ammo with mp5)

Then for a melee I would go for something easy to train with and durable. So forget katana’s or baseball bats, or sledgehammers for that matter. They will tire you out or break after limited use. Something like a hatchet or a machete would do a better job.

Forget grenades, forget incendiaries, forget heavy weapons. Keep it simple.

Although in hindsight this really wasn’t simple O.o

I’m not a gun-nut, I’m not a zombie nerd (much), I just know my shizzle.

With the choice of any gun I think i could go with the AR-15(or the military versions M-16). They very adaptable. You can take the same upper & lower receiver and customize them to what ever you want to do. From carbine style to long range 800yrd shots - it can do it. Plus they are a standard military weapon - so rounds are easy to find. Just about everywhere stocks the rounds and they are fairly cheap for rifle rounds. Also with the swap of the bolt and clip you can shoot 22LR. I know its a smaller round but is the oldest and most sold round ever, and keeps holding that record each year :P. Should be easy to find 22LR rounds. As for a side arm I think I want something on the larger end. .45 or .357 mag. I want something that will not said zombie onto the ground, even if its not a kill shot.

Dude, I’m English, we have no guns. My weapon of choice would be a shovel, Shawn of the Dead style :’)

i personally would go with the records as my range weapon and the paddle if it was from the shawn of the dead selection but the shovel is great too.
