Yea jozefs is right, Nu metal has some influences from hip hop as well and linkin isn’t an all out hiphop band either but they don’t have some influences from hiphop.

bands like evanessence play some nu metal, but I dont listen to nu metal, im more onto grunge, and the real heavy stuff like disturbed

It’s like heavy metal/grunge metal/ hip hop/ funk metal combined… I think Korn to a point is considerd a nu metal band. Listen to neidermeyers mind by korn.

But I never seen an all out nu metal band, just songs that are considerd to be nu metal.
