What was it like around the 1600's?

Like what kind of boats were used, what shops/market places did they have. What kind of health/doctors places were there.?

Answer #1

I imagine it was all just like starting, like the boats where made by hand, out of wood, and maybe small. Shops where rare, and only opened in the daylight hours because of no electricity. Doctors where men who experimented and tried their best on traying to make a pearson feel better, due to the lack of knoledge? Very, hard I guess…

That was when my country was under Netherland’s acupation, not much food and clothes…

Answer #3

In my country: roughly 90% of the people were illiterate. There were famines throughout Europe. The inquisition was still active, though its worst days were over.

1618-1648 there was a war, (the thirty years war) where my country lost about 15% to 30% of its entire population (some regions lost as much as 3/4 of the population) because of quarrels between the roman catholic church and the newly founded lutheranian protestant church. (As well as lots of opportunistic noblemen who utilized that quarrel in order to increase their power and posession).

There was no industry. People would fabric their own clothes. There was no fridge and no artificial preservative agents. People ate local products only. There were no fresh fruits or vegetables in wintertime. There was no electricity. People cooked and heated with wood or coal.

No fun time to live in.
