This woman has been living without money for 16 years, surviving with a barter and swap system. Do you think you'd have the resourcefulness to do the same?

There was this freak... A well situated man with a payed home, a good job and a family. Some day, he went missing. Just like that. He just disappeared, took nothing from his home, left no traces, was just gone. After a while, people thought he was dead.
More than 10 years later they found him, living in a forest, inside a national park... in a primitive tent-cottage-thing made of sticks and clay and stuff, dressed in self-made clothes of primitive linen and nettle fabric. He'd been eating insects, nuts, berries and whatever else appeared edible to him and he refused to go back to civilization. Because he "liked the forest better". And he insisted that his name was now "Öff Öff". They took him to a psychiatrist, but he went back to his forest as soon as they let him out... and he still lives there today.
But he has fans now. And somebody made a facebook site for him... http://funadvice.com/r/boviarrombj
I grew up with very little money in my household, so I do think I could live on very little. If I'm being completely honest, though, I think living with 0 money at all would be a little too difficult for me. I think I may enjoy the things money can buy a little too much now to give them up (computer, internet, a stable home, car, etc.), especially after having lived a lifestyle where we couldn't afford most of it.
I can see how this woman would be happy, but if I'm capable of doing work and providing for myself, I definitely would want to take that route instead.
lol oh my... i guess when it comes down to survival instincts i could make it. hunt and bath in a lake. lol. build a hut. It would be hard but you kinda got no choice if ya got no money. Im sure i wouldnt starve... there are deer and stuff. could be like a caveman and go hunting. Well my man would hehe
This is a very good question that I can't give you an honest answer for except, "as long as I can" This is very thought provoking.
Read the question again, and yes, I could do some trading for awhile, maybe about a year or less. Then, I don't know.
I could live as long as anybody else, just put me out in the woods and I'll be eatin' some squirrel for dinner...
Armed robbery then prison= 3 hots and a cot! done. :)
Forever, but not in America.
