Spending 30 dollars on a clipper seems a little extreme, personally, when a regular $1 nail clipper works just as well. I had pet rats for years, and while I understand it can be a little difficult to get them to sit still for a trim, with practice, it gets much easier.

Try bribing the rats with some peanut butter to keep them occupied while you trim. There's no need to flip them over onto their backs, either. Just gently sneak the clippers up under their feet.

Also, if they are squeaking when you clip, you might be cutting too far down. Make sure you are only clipping the very tip of the nail, the white area, and not any of the pink. If that's not the case, they're probably just reacting to the unusual sensation. They'll get used to it, no worries.

Enough preaching. To answer your question, this is from the Peticure website FAQ:

'Does it work for smaller animals such as ferrets, guinea pigs, birds, rabbits, turtles, etc.?

Yes, Peticure will work on all small animals.'

He's squealing because he's on his back...can you hold him so his front claws are kinda draped over your finger, and you can slip the clippers over the end? For his back claws you might get a friend to hold him, and then clip them...just take the tips...like you would on a cat, then maybe file them with an emory board.
