Rat facts

I want to get a rat, but I have heard many things about them-are these true-

Female rats dont have discharge, and dont smell
Rats must be in pares of 2

if you have other things that you know about rats, I would like to hear them too.

They do not have to be in pairs. Some rats don't like other rats, and some do.
I had the most amazing pet rat named Spike. I didn't keep him in a cage because he didn't like it so I didn't make him. I had him trained so that when I crinkled jolly rancher wrappers over the hole in the couch he'd come out. He was so cute.

Rats have a very generous disposition. In the animal kingdom the leader normally gets the first pick of the meal. For rats however the leader will wait until everyone is feed before they eat themselves. They have an emotional and loyal commitment to their owner just as a dog would.
