Wire transfer verification

Shouldn't a bank be able to verify that a wire is coming in, if it was sent out last friday from a US Bank and going to another US bank.

Yes, they should...keep on them, and if the originating bank has already had the money leave, then some pressure on the bank may help speed things up.
