Why don't some people believe in god and jesus?

I am a cristian. Although I don't go to church every day, I do believe that God and Jesus are the best things in life. Anyway. Why don't some people believe in God and Jesus. Havn't you read the bible? The bible is not a lie! I mean, they even found the...

dead sea scrolls. However, If your arn't a cristian I'm not mad at you. You are just looking for God and Jesus. You are living your life as a lie. You need to find God and Jesus. So. Please tell me what you believe in and why. Plus why you don't believe in the cristian faith or why you think it's a lie. Thanks and please answer.

You are either born with faith or you aren't. It's something that He gives you as a gift. I think that a lot of people don't believe in Him because they are going through struggles in their lives. Another possible reason is that they think they don't need Him or that they are too smart for Him. Sometimes it's the upbringing (parents make a huge difference) but not always. You've got to understand that nobody is the same and say a quick prayer that people who need Him most will find Him in the end.

As the Bible says, 'the way is narrow, few there are that find it' - also He only knocks on the door of ones heart but so many times, then stops - I pray that no-one here allows their heart to 'wax cold'...Take care !!

There are many things that have facts backed behind them that has turned out to proven wrong, im not saying your beliefs are, but there are other beliefs that have had things to back up their realisim also. You ask why dont some people believe in God and Jesus but dont you think there is someone as passionate about their faith asking why dont you belive in Buddah? We each have choices and we all have different opinions and see life in a different light that doesnt make the other person/ beliefs wrong that makes us different.

I havent read the Bible.
Im not living my life as a lie.

The reason many people don't believe in God and Jesus is because the evidence overwhelmingly indicates they are mythological figures influenced by pagan religions and invented to challenge political authorities or shape public opinion and social behavior. Your assumption that non-believers are living their life as a lie is arrogant and presumptuous, and does little to further your brainwashing cause. The Christian faith has a history of deception, manipulation, and political corruption. This is not subject to debate, it's a matter of fact. Be gone with you and your worthless beliefs.

1) Yes, I've read the Bible. It's patently absurd and obviously the work of superstitious brutal ancient men.

2) The Bible is not a lie. I agree. It's a combination of myths, poetry, hymns, creeds, legends, political commentary and propaganda. ...but not a lie per se.

3) The dead sea scrolls *contradict* the Bible, and show us that the NT was not intended to be a historical record

I realize that the way this question was worded wasn't really necessary. There is no reason for any body to look down on any one else because of their religion or lack of religion.

Just because some people don't believe in God, that doesn't mean that they are living their life a lie. There are so many different kinds of religions because everybody deserves the chance to pick the one that makes sense to them. Why is this wrong?

No body (and I mean everyone from every religion or faith) is better than any one else. We all have our own beliefs, that's what makes the world unique.

Let's not criticize any one for what they believe in, because everyone (I think) on here at least believes in the same core values...murder, rape, etc...see my point? Isn't it better to have a world where we all agree that these things are wrong then to have a world fighting over what Being we want to believe in?

Ahh...the wonders of science. That's what the Enlightenment was. Explainations for things can be proven through science.
Personally, I think the Bible is a lie. I think it's just a regular book that someone wrote. Can anyone prove that it isn't a lie? I doubt it. I think it just tells a story. I don't believe in religion whatsoever.
People who aren't Christian do not live their life as a lie, heck my life is fine actually...it's those that think they're lives are a lie that are ignortant, self-centered, and quite frankly, crazy. People who bash other people's beliefs are stupid. I don't care about people's beliefs, but get over it. I hate it when Christians bash other people's beliefs. I've read the bible and found it hard to believe. It contradicts its self.
there's an all loving God that will send you to hell if you don't believe in him even though he shows a minimum evidence that he exist?

To start out, I'm a christian and LDS/Mormon.
I think some people don't want to see that Heavenly Father and Jesus don't exist because they are struggling with issues in their lives. Some people don't understand the bible or want to understand. I don't think people are living in lies. Its all the choice of the individual.
Don't let some of these people get you down, they can believe in what they want. They have a right to believe if god exists or not. Just respect that. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but, none of us christians want to shove our beliefs down people's throats. When they are ready to believe in Heavenly Father, and his son Jesus, then that's their choice to see the light.
I myself try not to shove my beliefs down anyone's throats. I'm doing better at it though. You just have to get used to people believing that Heavenly Father and Jesus doesn't exist. Its all personal.

I know there isn't really enough proof...and to tell you all the truth, you don't have to fully believe in god to go to heaven. That wouldn't be fair to the jews because you were born jew and can't celebrate christmas.
