Did David Hume believe in God? I have to answer this for my philosophy class. I need to roleplay a philosopher in a discussion about the existence of God and I'm David Hume. So did David Hume blieve in God and what were his argument about the subject....

I think we can be certain that Hume did not believe in a traditional God such as the major religions espouse. He was an empiricist, and noted that it was impossible to deduce the existence of a Deity as they are typically defined.
