Why do people desire to worship satan (evil) vs god (good)?

I just watched a true video about Satanist being arrested. In the house were found horrific evidence of murder and torture. Please tell me why would human beings, who were made in God's image, desrie to worship evil? Why choose evil when they could worship Good.

My opinion, they have allowed evil to enter their lives in some manner - once Satan's fingerprints are on a life, the road to destruction is accelerated - that's why we have to be careful/guarded not to open an avenue/door for this to happen - always keeping in mind, 'there, but by the grace of God, go I'...Hope this helps !!

These types of acts are the result of ordinary religious delusion combined with sociopathic tendencies. That said, most people who call themselves Satanists are law abiding citizens who have empathy for others. If you didn't know they were Satanists, they would seem like anyone else.

I'd say that the people who take on Satanism as part of a lifestyle of murder and torture are already evil - they just find that Satanism fits the bill in terms of seeming creepy and powerful. My point is that it wasn't Satanism that made them evil, but that they sought it out because they were already psychopathic.

There may be other people who take on Satanism as a religion for slightly more 'innocent' reasons - it seems cool, it seems rebellious, it looks like freedom etc. I think they're making a big mistake but I don't think it will turn them all into murderous psychopaths.

Think of it as in star wars. The Light Side and Dark Side. The Light Side was harder required disaplin, but eventualy rewarded with becoming one with the force. The Dark Side was easy, just do what ever you need to do to become stronger, it corrupts you, it slowly kills you from the inside out, its easy, but there is no reward.

Satanism isn't evil. I think Christianity is more evil than Satanism. Christains are the reason why we are in a war with Iraq right now. It was Christians who first came to America and killed and enslaved the Native Americans. Christians are the one's who made African Americans slaves. Christians are the one's who never gave women any rights in society. All of this has been done by Christians. The problem with Christianity is that it is too narrow-minded and agressive.

Believe it or not(not in defense of them, I dislike them myself) Satanist do not worship Satin.
They have no central figure of worship other than their self.
They're a would be religion founded by Anton Szandor LaVey's round the 1950's basically in rebellion of Christianity. They claim to be part of the occult(this boils my blood almost more than anything) yet they can't even call the holidays the their proper names, rather the Christian names. For example, the 2 most important holidays in the 'religion' other than your one birthday are Walpurgisnacht (evening of April 30) and Halloween (evening of October 31), it's SAMHAIN & BELTANE, & BELTANE actually will vary from the 30th of April to the first of may from year to year for certain reasons. I don't know why they chose those to holidays to mock(because that's exactly what they're doing in my opinion) but it p*$$es me off because Samhain is the most important holiday of the year(let me know if your interested in knowing why) & Beltane is Hand fasting of the Lord & Lady! The magick they practice is would be Voodoo, Blood Magick, & Sex Magick, & supposedly some Healing Magick on the side.
Ohm here's something that's just precious ' One white candle is placed to the right of the altar; it symbolizes the belief of Satanists in the hypocrisy of 'White Magicians' and Wiccans because of the latter's insistence on avoiding doing harm to others'. I don't see how Wiccans are the hypocrites, the practice what they preach. All TRUE occult practitioners know that whatever you send into the world will come back to you, whether the same amount, 3 fold, or 10 fold(which ever they believe, I believe the same amount & sometimes 3-10 fold depending on the situation, some tend to have a ripple effect you know), thus a lot pf practitioners will not harm others, especially those practitioners or the ones ho follow the Wiccan Rede & the Wiccan Rede states that do what you will but harm none, the 10 laws/rules of magick even say that(though I believe it may of been taken from the Rede). Though I guess it's not all bad, the highest crime is murder(especially of women & children). But still, it's nothing but a long term selfishness, hell, that's kinda what the symbol they use stand for. The pentagram upright(top point at the top) represents for all the elements(earth, air, fire, water, & spirit), spirit being at the top basically symbolizing spirituality over material matter. ...there isn't even substantial evidence Jesus was crucified (if he existed at all). The Gospels are absurdly implausible, Paul's writings have been heavily tampered with (some epistles formerly attributed to Paul have now been analyzed by scholars as later pseudepigraphs!), and the hallmark 'proof' of Jesus in Josephus ' Antiquities 9 has been shown to be a later fraud as well.
