Why do people classify me as emo

Im not I dont look or act like all my friends say I am and so do kids at school its really annoying

Emo is just another stereotype... everyone gets a label at some point. If they didn't call you "emo" they would probley call you some other stereotypical name.

It's because they are stereotypical idiots and they don't actually know what an emo is. Emo is short for emotional. If your not emotional then your not an emo, it doesn't matter how you dress. The correct term for you would most likely be 'scene'. Even then I don't know, I'm just going on your pictures.

You could try explaining it to those idiots but it probably wouldn't penetrate their thick skulls.

well thats bullsh*t I dont look emo and for one im not scene and I most certainly am NOT EMO I am very emotional but not to that point because emo stands for exactly this emotional hardcore I am not hardcore emotional

Well in your dp pic you do have the "emo fringe" , dude people call me it all the time, well its true for me, maybe not for you. Emo is a form of music , but with changehas adapted into a lifestyle, genre etc, I suppose no one will ever know were it truely origionated from...when people say crap like that to you just say something like wow 'congradulations you've learnt a word' "and people thought you wernt smart'...etc (probebly not so good those ones) but just tell them to p*ss off or call them metrosexuals...there just arogant...

its because your hair is emo. my friend has the same issue. she doesnt dress emo, but her hair is REALLY emo, so all of the older grades call her emo.

there is a new group called "scene". that is where you look emo, and everything else, but you dont cut yourself, and you rnt that depressed.
