Kabbalah (Hebrew: קַבָּלָה‎), which literally means "receiving", is the mystical aspect of Judaism. It is a set of esoteric teachings meant to define the inner meaning of both the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) and traditional Rabbinic literature, as well as to explain the significance of Jewish religious observances.

Kabbalah isn't recognized by modern Reform or Conservative Jews. I was raised in the jewish temple and never heard of it until madonna took it as her latest fad. My parents had never heard of it either. I ran into a rabbi I know and asked him about it. He asked if I had been watching MTV. lol.

Modern Kabbalah is a Jewish sect - not mainstream Judaeism.

To Jews and Christians, it would be perfectly acceptable to study it impartially, but (in my opinion) not acceptable to observe it as your religion.

you could try but you wont understand its true meanings without the backround...the rabbis of orthodox jews dont recommend even the jews themselves to learn it unless they are 40 and studied a lot of certain books on the gemara etc so I doubt anyone would get its true meaning
