Yes, Satan blinds the eyes of people so that they cannot see God. It is his most deceptive trick.

Yes, he is the author of all sin, and sickness, and evil.

Satan is a very powerful being, next only to God himself. All of his deeds are evil. He hates Gods creation, because he was in heaven with God, and tried to prove that he was above God, and ended up kicked out of heaven.

He is now on this earth, running to and fro, seeing whom he may devour.

If we are not under Gods protection, we have no defense against him.

If you are a child of God, and Satan is allowed to touch you, it is only because God allowed it to happen, to test your faith. He has to go thru God, to touch one of his children.

God will destroy Satan, but, the time is not yet. Mankind has been allowed to rule this planet for 6 thousand years, Satan has also been loose, but, that is all going to change. One day, Satan will be done away with forever. We have to accept that since this planet and all that live on it, belong to God, that it is his plan and his choice, as to how and when it all ends.

God will intervene, thru prayer. His kingdom is already at work on this earth. The inhabatants all know to whom they belong. The testing is taking place, daily, as to whom we will all serve. God or Satan. A cosmic stuggle. A battle to the end.For the souls of mankind.

God will never have another rebellion in his kingdom. He is deciding on who lives with him, by our actions. Our attitudes and actions, determine our altitude.

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Satan doesnt cause anything. We have free will. Blaming the devil is a copout. If god destrowed satin we wouldnt need him.

'A human being is endowed with free will. He can use this to choose between good and evil. If he can only perform good or only perform evil, then he is a clockwork orange - meaning that he has the appearance of an organism lovely with colour and juice but is in fact only a clockwork toy to be wound up by God or the Devil.'

Satan is not real. It's just a metaphor in the bible, just like Adam and Eve. My step-dad is a pastor. Trust me on this one.

'Satan is not real. It's just a metaphor in the bible, just like Adam and Eve. My step-dad is a pastor. Trust me on this one.'

Ok, I'm going to go ahead and trust you. But only since you trust your Dad. Or, more importantly, your Dad's belief that Satan doesn't exist. Even though, by the time it reaches me, it's a third party source for information, which we all know from fifth grade will just cause you to get an F on your paper. Especially when it's on a subject that has baffled great minds in the Christian, Jewish, and Islamic religion...But I trust you.

Here's my answer to the posted questions. Keep in mind it's opinion.
#1- No, not directly.
#2- Satan does not cause our sin, or he would be held accountable for it. Believing he causes us to to do wrong is an easy way to get rid of guilt.
#3- No, we cause things that are bad to happen...If you believe Satan temps you, and thus causes you to do wrong, we still did decided to do evil (excluding possession, but there is no record of Satan himself possessing anyone). By our definition of what is bad we are responsible when we do something bad. If God were to make an action that, as humans, we perceive to be wrong, he would technically be responsible for doing a 'bad thing,' from the human definition of what we define as bad. However, since God decides what is and is not good, you're stuck in a little paradox. Is it good because God says it, or does God say it because it's good?

#4- Finally! I love this question. To answer I must assume God and Satan exist (Sorry pastor's daughter, I lied), and that God is more powerful than Satan, if not all powerful. God's decision to not stop, or destroy, Satan can mean only a few diff things.(to me)
A- He cannot Stop Satan.
B- He doesn't want to Stop Satan, any reason..even too busy will work.
C- Satan is a tool God uses and is aware of.(My favorite)
D- God has already 'taken care' of Satan, or will(Revalation). (we just don't know it).

Just remember, if God is all powerful and all knowing, he knew what Satan would do and become the moment he created Lucifer. Either you reject that God is all knowing, or you accept that God has a plan for everything, including Satan.
But another little catch is, if you believe in the book of Revalations. God is all knowing, otherwise he couldn't tell John(the author) what to write. Unless God chose not to know the future of Satan, at the time of his creation. We can't say God is unable to 'not know' since he is all powerful and nothing he can't do. Either way, you're stuck in a tremendous paradox. Let me know when you get out, then maybe you could give me a little direction.

P.S.- Sorry I don't sound as if I reading this from a website or reciting what I've heard from Sunday School. I thought you might want a little improvisation. Next time I'll sound more like everybody else.

Silverwings your response was great!

Just like Silverwings said, Satan became evil and was kicked out of heaven taking with him one third of the angels he had tricked into believing God was bad.

Satan tempts all human beings to sin and he is very good at it. Remember he has been at it even before our world was created.

God made man with the freedom to choose good or evil. The only thing is that sinse Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, ever sinse then the human race has a propensity to sin, it's our nature.

To become a Christian and follow God gives Satan a real headache! He wants as many people as he can to choose him over God and when a person chooses to follow God, Satan knows that he has lost one and it makes him mad. Satan then tempts them harder than he would a person who is against God because he knows he already has them. It's Christians he hates.

Satan is real and is going about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour! Don't allow him to tempt you, leading you down a wrong path which leads you away from our Lord.

Keep your eyes on Christ and He will fill your heart with peace washing away the darkness Satan places in your life.

Well to answer your question about satan, he's the devil, he creates sin, he creates temptation, etc.
God, knows that satan is evil but, I'm not sure why he doesn't get rid of him.
Hope this helps.

Thank you so much 'funadvice' god gives us free choice- to follow the easy path (sin) or the hard path (living a good life ina world of sin) once we have jesus in our life life is hard but its worth living becuase we have jesus! If there wasn't sin we would have no reason to go to GOD with anything!

god bless
