The speed of dark vs the speed of light?

Which is faster, the speed of light or the speed of dark?

Answer #1

What’s faster, the speed of sound or the speed of silence?

Answer #2

Light consist of many waves.that is the key.

Answer #3

yes but if you take the apple away there is still air there, you cant see air but its still there.

Answer #4

They aren’t bad, but if you eat one right after you ate a regular apple, your stomach explodes.

Answer #5

It’s like asking, ‘Which travels faster, two cars on the freeway doing 60 miles an hour or the space between them?’ The absence of one thing does not create another thing.

I have a bowl of five apples. I remove one. I now have a bowl of four apples, not four apples and an antiapple.

Answer #6

Darkness is the term commonly given to the absense of light. So, darkness is just a word to describe the absense of light.

Darkness does not travel, it is just the absense of light. Light is the thing you are measuring.

Darkness doesn’t travel.

=]

Answer #7

Darkness is the absense of light. So you can only measure the speed of light. So, since there is no such thing as the speed of dark, the speed of light it faster at 299 792 458 m/s.

Answer #8

I’d guess ill say the speed of light

Answer #9

so are you saying the absence of light means dark is’nt there?

Answer #10

Think of it as water from a garden hose. When you first turn it on it takes a moment before you hit your target. And when you turn it off it takes the same moment to stop hitting your target. Same with light. The light from the sun takes 8 minutes to reach us. So if the sun turned purple we’d see it 8 minutes after the color change. If the sun then exploded we’d still see sunlight for 8 minutes for it disappeared.

Light travels at 600 million miles per hour so it seems instant.

Answer #11

k so if light travels at a speed and darkness is the opposite of light or the absents of light then wouldnt it not have a rate of speed or possibly have an exact opposite speed. jk

k so when you turn on a light its almost instantly there right k? what happens when you turn it off its instantly gone so darkness is just there because light is not. make sense?

Answer #12

The speed of dark is definitely faster than the speed of light. When you open a door, you can see the light enter, but you can’t see the dark escape since it is too fast:-)

Answer #13

there is no such thing as “nothing”, lol at surferjoe “Darkness and silence are only imaginary concepts in your head to make things easier to talk about. They don’t really exist and can’t do anything.” if darkness did’nt exist it would be permenantly light, which makes me think silence is lack of sound, but there must be something there first in order for you to hear something, like I said there is no such thing as nothing.”nothing” don’t exit. this is my answer for the original question: darkness is all around us,therfore its instant, the only thing you can messure is the speed of light which is traveling through dark, light takes time to get anywhere, darkness dose’nt.dark is faster than light.

Answer #14

yes but what iam saying is ther must be something there in the first place,if the apple is gone here on earth there would still be air there in its place, but you cant see air, does’nt mean it’s not there?

Answer #15

What’s faster, the speed of sound or the speed of silence?

Darkness and silence are only imaginary concepts in your head to make things easier to talk about. They don’t really exist and can’t do anything.

Answer #16

Technically light. Since darkness is just the absence of light, it is always there, hidden by light’s presence. Thus it is not moving and has no speed. However, this is assuming that darkness is even a concept with in common physics. Light itself is a form of energy, whilst darkness is nothing.
