OH, I had the same problem, I had to uninstall one of my previous expansion packs then install my new one. After I installed the new one I installed my old one. I know you would probably think all your still will be gone after uninstalling it, but actually when you reinstall it All your stuff will be there again. I don't know about pets but it worked with seasons. Good LUck !
