Aloe vera gel helps. Im super white so I always get a bad burn if I suntan too long.
Keep your skin moist with lotion, drink lots of water. They also sell creams at the store for bad sunburns, one is called cool water and it helps a lot!

Before applying the aloe vera, get into a cool bathtub...warm the water up gradually...just till it starts to hurt again, soak, till your skin gets used to it, then warm some more...till your skin says NO...soak...It'll take a lot of sting out...then slather on the aloe vera...You're likely to feel chilled by the time you go to bed...so have a blanket handy, even if it still feels too warm out to use it...you'll need it in the night.

Next time...be careful!! Those chills are a slight case of sun stroke!

I've gotten sun poisoning which is much worse than a burn. there were water bubbles on my skin. very painful! I suggest a cool bath, aloe vera and when your going to sleep... honestly don't wear much because your skin will feel like its suffocating or if you have to, wear something very light like a little jammie dress. drink a lot of cold water and just be in the cool air. it'll feel more comfortable. remember to re-apply the aloe vera! applying many times helps goes a long way. and like phrannie said, next time be careful. I love to sleep on the beach but I usually do it under an umbrella, out of the sun.

hope this helped happy

Vinegar is a natural antihistamine and will lower the inflammation of your sunburn.

Just fill a spray bottle with 1/2 apple cider vinegar and water and spray it on your burn.

Yes, you will smell like vinegar for a while but this is much better than being in pain.
