Aha, more Vista troubles...
Sims 2 will work on Vista, so long as your computer meets the Vista requirements and has a suitable graphics card to run the Sims 2 on it. Because most latop's that have come out since Vista's release have had integrated graphics rather than a separate graphics card, often they struggle to run Vista's graphics requirements let alone another games - any laptop running Vista Home Basic generally barely meets Vista's requirements. And Vista seems to want some pretty grunty graphics cards for things - but doesn't support all of those that are out there!
So, unfortunately this isn't good new for you playing it on your laptop - with laptop's, you can't upgrade the graphics card (or put one in if it uses integrated). Its possible Sims 2 would work on your laptop if it was bumped down to Windows XP, but I doubt whether your laptop will ever be able to play Sims 2 while it has Vista
Thanks...not exactly good news, but I don't understand all of that computer stuff beyond Internet and games, so I was jsut wondering if changing was a possibility. Guess not...*sigh*. Oh well, thanks anyway.
Actually, after I had all the problems, yesterday I just put the game in to try, and...it WORKED! Magic! I don't understand why, but, whatever, magic is magic. So this queston is pretty much done.

Can I play sims 2 on vista?

Is there a version of Sims 2 that works with Vista? I fell in love with the game and bought it immediately for our home computer, but now I have my own laptop with Vista (stupid upgrades) and can't play the stupid game! Something about a graphics card? Anyway, anyone know if there is a version that is Vista-liking??
