Religion good or bad

I know that there are many people who take goodness and hope out of the vavious religions that are around but how can a set of thoughts and teachings be good if they have in one way or form been involved in starting various wars and conflicts in history...

that has resulted in millions dieing. Surely this indicates that religion is in fact a force of bad (evil) instead of the good that people refer it to.

I don't really like the word religion...religion to me is man made and how do you (man) connect with a God (Immortal superior being).I prefer faith.

FAith to me is more about metamorphosis...a change of mind...It's all about the state of the heart and about LAws and regulations that you lose focus on what the real message is.I'm not saying it's not important to obey rules...what's more important is the MOTIVE...it has to be sincere and real and done out of love not obligation.

when you change the way you think about love,death,life,people...that's when your whole life changes...and faith makes this possible.BY believing in something we find the reason no matter how irrational one might seem...to change.

Hopefully it's for the better and not for the worst.

A good friend of mine who was a muslim once told me religion should be dealing with inside more than the outside...like it's an internal change that other people can also see in the outside.

So I don't think religion is bad I think our motives behind are.

if you actually knew knowledge of the many *religions* or faiths in this world, you would realize that they dont teach of violence, bad, that you so speak of that has been part of history. infact, theres one that speaks of if somebody hits you turn the other cheek. so wheres the violent act in the believer?
