Prove god exists

yep tats me! Asked by bozomatt 3 months ago, 26 answers.

Is there any real proof that god exists? I mean I know theres the bible and stuff but thats just writing and theres no actual evidence that those stories really happened. So have they actually found evidence of any of that stuff being true?

bellamilla: If that's the case, I'd say you have a responsibility to use this amazing power for the greater good of humanity. Please, start praying for world peace and an end to hunger. I'll be watching the news with great anticipation.

miracles happen every day. you just have to open your eyes and look for them. once my grandpa coted blue (died) in the hospital. he was dead for about 15 minutes. which, any other person would have never survived. but the doctors just wouldnt stop giving him cpr and after 15 minutes, he came back to life. if you think about it, when a person's dead for even 5 minutes, a doctor cannot usually bring him back. but he was dead for 14 minutes, and is still living now. it wasnt just the doctors that saved him, it was God.

>theres no actual evidence that those stories really happened<

That's not true. Historical evidence exists proving the existence of someone who fit the descriptions of Jesus.

Beautiful234,

Which is it 14 or 15 minutes?

I wonder, if the doctors had done nothing at all, would god still have brought him back to life?

Strange how these events are attributed to the greatness of god, yet all the terrible ways people die around this world everyday have nothing to do with him. What gives?

I dont know if I believe that... does your grandfather suffer from serious brain trauma now? Because after you are declared 'dead' for over 3 minutes or so, your brain cells start dying off at a rapid pace. So you're saying he was dead for 5x that amount? That means he's basically a vegetable. You're either lying or he wasn't dead. Sorry. You should get your facts straight.

As for there being a god. I say believe in what you want. I honestly think it's load of trash and that the real answer to life is something that humans can't comprehend. Ever think that we're just here and there isn't a reason for it? The biggest error in the human brain is that we must find a reason for everything... what if there isn't a reason? And what if when we die nothing happens... we're just dead. Just like a machine when it's battery dies. It's the same concept. I know it's hard to think about it but It opens the door to a huge discussion.

'They' have indeed found evidence that those events actually happened--archeological events. ANd that is coming from me who is not a true believer in the bible. My husband bought me this bible that explains archeological and historical finds that connect othe bible and it is interesting.

You should read the bible, even if it takes you a lifetime and see for yourself. I think that if it makes sense and feels true you will believe in GOD and the bible. But if it doesn't well there is your proof toward a non-existing god. I think we all have to seek that answer on our own, if you let someone else convince you of your response you will always have an ounce of doubt.

no, I dont and never will believe theres any evidence of any 'god' at all.
and miracles dont happen. there is only the opportunity to make one happen.
people who claim to heal people through the 'power of jesus' or something are also scams.
the bible was written my men, and not just one, quite a few people.
back thousands of years ago people would have beileved anything. so they needed something to believe in, becuase there was too many things in the world that they, man, could not explain. so thats there answer for everything...'god did it'

No, there's no relevant evidence of any gods, other than the trivial type (volcano gods, tiki's, etc.).

...and it isn't true regarding historical evidence of Jesus. There is no credible historical evidence that Jesus existed at all.

...why does someone always bring up evolution in these threads!? If evolution were disproved tomorrow, that would still provide zero evidence of any gods.

God has shown me that he exists. I dont need other proof. But when I ASK FOR SOMETHING AND PRAY, he ALWAYS grants my prayers, and that is the best proof.

I think the questioner is looking for scientific evidence and not just fuzzy stories or appeals to incredulity. Rightfully, the burden of proof is on the believer but, let's face it, there's no way anyone can scientifically prove God at this time. It just goes to show that we all have different standards for evidence and we don't all use reason to make our decisions.

behold I say unto you I know there is a God. and also that Christ shall come. And now what evidence have you that there is no God or that Christ cometh not? I say unto you you have none, save it be your word only. But behold I have all things as a Testimony that these things are true; and you also have all things as a testimony unto you that they are true; And will you deny them? Be humble kneal in prayer and ask him in faith he will tell you he is there by the witness of the Holy Ghost

actually, no one can directly prove he exists
or else everyone would have no doubt in it
and you wouldn't be asking this
everyone believes in different things obviously, with no direct proof any of the thousands of religions are true
so its impossible to prove it, just go with what you believe and dont let anyone challenge it
proof exists in your head for whatever it is you believe (or don't believe)

Thunder Robot Answered by funadvice on Apr 06, 2008, 04:29PM

I do not believe in God. I know 'God' did not create life or Earth. based on that I find it highly unlikely that 'God' exists. you will never have proof that God exists, it's just assumed.

michild,

Jump out of an airplane and open your parachute. It is air that fills the parachute and slows your decent so that you don't fall like a rock. Now it's your turn, prove that God exists.

Air

air (âr)
n.

A colorless, odorless, tasteless, gaseous mixture, mainly nitrogen (approximately 78 percent) and oxygen (approximately 21 percent) with lesser amounts of argon, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, neon, helium, and other gases.

This mixture with varying amounts of moisture and particulate matter, enveloping the earth; the atmosphere.

Some of the events and people in the Bible were real and some parts of the Bible can be treated as historical writings.

But as for things like Noah's Ark, Moses 12 plagues, or the miracles of Jesus, no there is absolutely no proof at all.
