You can be American without being a Christian.

Silverwings, I am a Christian. I have been for 6 years so I am still relatively young(in real life only 15), you are ruining your testimony by posting this stuff in such a blunt way. If you wanted to wake someone up from a deep sleep, who has not slept in five days, without them getting mad, you would not want to point a flashlight strait at their eyes. You would start with a dim light and slowly wake them up. Same thing here. Your telling people:

***The New America... IS ANTI-GOD... So you should fit in very nicely ...***

This is shining a flashlight at someone's face that is not even true. Please stop posting messages like this one, your ruining it for me, and a lot of others out there.

Being an American has nothing to do with god.

If you were born an American and feel you are doing what you can to prove your patriotism, then you are a true American.

Were you born in The United States of America? ...or - Are you a Naturalized Citizen of the United States of America? If one of the answers to these questions is, Yes, then you are a citizen of The United States of America.
Ones religious faith, or lack thereof, has NOTHING to do with citizenship in the United States of America.

Beliefs don't matter. If you're born here, Naturalized here, or born on American soil overseas (like on an Army base or something), or born on an Airplane that just happened to be flying over the U.S.A...then you're American. Religion or beliefs don't matter.

America was founded on the freedom that God gives in his word...no matter how many people nowdays, who are trying to change it.

Because of Gods grace, you are given the choice to hate him, if you so choose, and fight everything that he stands for.

Every relligion has freedom of expression here, because of God and the Bible.

silverwings - Your capacity to make no sense whatsoever is seemingly unlimited. The reason that the USA has freedom of expression and freedom of (or from) religion, is because of the constitution, and that the founding fathers were secularists, it has nothing to do with god.

See silwerwings, that's why people bash you and get irritated, your arguments make no sense and you don't read the question.

Being American, means that you live in America (I.e. have American citizenship, you can obtain that without being the member of any religion)

Religion has nothing to do with patriotism. That's like me saying I'm not a true New Zealander because I don't like rugby.

***The New America... IS ANTI-GOD... So you should fit in very nicely ...***

Another fine example of Silverwings and her sheer intolerance of anyone who doesn't fit into the same exact little Christian box that she's in.

***America was founded on the freedom that God gives in his word...no matter how many people nowdays, who are trying to change it.***

Okay, let's look at the founding fathers shall we?

Was George Washington a Christian? NO!
Was Thomas Jefferson a Christian? NO!
John Adams? No! Ben Franklin? NO!
Was Abe Lincoln a Christian? NO NO NO!

There was this wonderful thing called the separation of Church and State. Happened ages ago. Seems like you have yet to bend your narrow mind around that fact.

SAD TO SAY THAT EVERYONE WANTS TO SAY THAT THEY ARE BUT WITH THEIR ACTIONS THEY HAVE DENIED GOD. BIG TURN OFF, THAT IS WHY THERE IS SUCH A MESS OUT THERE. IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE, AND WHEN IT DOES THEN THERE WILL BE A GREAT DIFFERANCE INT HOSE WHO ARE A REAL CHRISTIAN, BECAUSE GOD TAKES CARE OF HIS CHILDREN, ALWAYS.

Stephanieg: Turn off your caps lock key. Typing in all caps does not make your point any more valid.

You don't have to scream, it's irritating.

Have you been to Africa yet sweetie, the majority here are Christian and the majority are also starving, clearly your god doesn't ALWAYS take care of his children...

yeah
a few fun facts about this country

Our first President was Atheist a Free Mason
The America Revolution wouldn't of happened if it weren't for the free mansions
The 98% of the people who wrote the constitution were Atheist
Almost all of America's important people who made a change were, you guessed it, atheist
and a lot were also free masons

so before people answer well this country was started by Christians
Check your history first 1_~
