can you belive in God and still be gothic

my friend asking me can you belive in God and still be gothic

Answer #1

Thanks for all the help

Answer #2

If you mean Gothic as a type of dress and attitude, then yes. Goth is essentially just a sub-culture. It’s not a religion, however, there are some “Goth” people who practice religions that aren’t necessarily aligned with Christianity or the beliefs associated with God. People stereotype Gothic sub-culture with those religions, and wrongly so.

Nothing can really stop you from believing in God except for yourself. It’s a personal choice. Nothing determines that for you.

Answer #3

yes you deffinitaly can..just like you could be a tatted up mohoc looking, with pericings EVERYWHERE and still believe in God…I have a guy that goes to my church..and I love him !! it doesnt matter what you look like God loves you no matter what..

Answer #4

Might be possible - your Faith is in your heart - so you would want everything you say and do to please God - you have to ask yourself, does it ?

Answer #5

God receives us as we are, and he takes us where he wants us to be.

Answer #6

of caourse you can… my boyfriend’s goth and he belives in god, he’s mother’s a priest too. Why shouldn’t you be able to believe in god just because you’re gothing? It’s got nothing to do with religion, it’s simple a matter of style and taste.

Answer #7

Sure, as long as you don’t buy into a god who is anti-goth. Plenty of historicasl gods have no problem with that.

Answer #8

yes, cause God does not judged by the appearence but what’s in your heart.

Answer #9

You can do whatever you want!

Answer #10

Well I believe that God brings joy, (not only happiness which is bound to a situation) & contentment, even inthe midst of trials. Being gothis SOONER or Later will result in you having dark toughts, not willing to be participating at home school etc, if its not with this specific group. As a christian we are supposed not to be a stumbling block for others to come to Christ. Ask yourself this: What or who do I love more then anything: God Almighty or being gothic? What does light have to do with darkness? Don’t be unequally yoked. And ask your pastor what he thinks if you have more questions. Good luck.

Answer #11

Yes, you can still believe in God if you are ‘gothic’. It does depend on what you mean by ‘gothic’ because the meaning has changed in many ways over time. Being gothic relates more to philosophy, etc, but that in no way prevents them from believing in a higher power. People often confuse goths with atheists (and sometimes satanists, lol), etc. Along with this misconception is the thought that there is a ‘gothic religion’. As far as I know (especially in modern terms), being gothic does not bear any relevance to religion. Hence, you can be gothic and also have a faith. But I’m not 100% sure about all this :P.

Answer #12

yes gothic is not a religion, its a label/sterotype its nothing more than a genre of music and a style of dress gothic has nothing to do with any religion or god and any religion or god has nothing to do with the gothic subculture they are both intirely different things there certainly is gothic people who beleive in the christian god and there are gothic people who beleive in other religions as well because a sterotype is not a religion and it doesnt represent a religion either

Answer #13

Goth is just a style. Most goth people like Satan and the dead. But you can be Gothic and be a Christian! Goth is just a stereotype style. So don’t worry!!

Answer #14
