Should I talk to someone about my suicidal friend?

Ok, my friend told me she wants to kill herself. Normally when she says stuff like this she doesnt do it. But this time she is sooo upset and Im very scared for her. She has already cut her arms to shreds and what should I do? Should I tell someone? Will she hate me if I tell?

Definately go tell someone, preferably your school's counselor, or you could tell teacher, parents, just a trusting adult! You friend needs serious help and you could be the one to help her take the first step to wellness! Your counselor probably won't tell her that you are the one who told if you ask her to keep it private. But if you love your friend, do this for her!

you should tell a counselor bc they wont tell her mom butt they will still talk to her and I agree with heather

YES YES YES go tell someone anyone. You wouldn't be able to forgive yourself if she did do something and you stood by and did nothing. Please take her to someone. Good Luck!

My friend is the same way. She cuts herself and talks about suicide. The school counselor, if she thinks she will kill herself, will make contact home to warn her parents. I have been in your situation, and all I did was speak to her and made her feel that she has a place in the world. Made sure she knew who would miss her if she left us. Even if she did get mad, she'll get over it because she will realize you were being a friend and that you cared.

I think you should deff tell someone. let her know you care and you are worried. Encourage her to get proffessional advice an keep her as active as possible. Force her to get of the house with you - even just a walk on the beach!

Make sure she takes pride in her appearance. tell her she looks good and encourage her to be girlie and wear make -up, nice clothes. She has prob lost interest in all of this and needs to get it back somehow. Help her. Encourage her. Do it with her.

I THINK THAT YOU SHOULD TELL SOMEONE. YOU SHOULD ALSO TRY TO TALK TO YOUR FRIEND. CHANCES ARE THAT SHE IS JUST GOING THROUGH A PHASE BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE THAT COMMITT SUICIDE DONT TALK TO ANYONE ABOUT IT.
