I take Motrim (pill) for my period pains and it usually helps, also holding a heating pad on the cramping areas.

Hey honey maybe you should see a doctor if you are that worried. It sound normal to me you usually get pain at the beginning of your period. Some more than others.

I agree with megs125 If these cramps are really that bad you should see a doctor. Also you are definately not alone. Many females get those terrible cramps on their first day or two. I can tell ya, I get reeaaallly bad cramps every other month. And its just ridiculous! I mean,,, I wonder why I'm in so much pain and I also end up laying around all day taking naps. But the thing is I know that I haven't been exercising enough, and drinking enough water. Are you getting a good amount of water every day? You should be drinking plenty of it to help the flow through your body. Exercising... it is a pain right? of course! I force myself to do a lot of jumping jacks, or go on a walk because even though its really painful, it will help a little after you run. Also I recommend Advil. of course ask your parent first about that, but It helps me. We should all have an approximate idea of WHEN we are going to have it so make sure that you are drinking plenty of water before it and exercising! It really does help the cramps shouldn't be so bad! I went through the whole exercising before it... and I didnt get cramps. and then I went through not exercising to see the difference. and it was terrible!
make sure you are also eating healthy but drinking plenty of water is IMPORTANT.

sorry this is long. haha but I hope this helps
and if you really want to get rid of these cramps
you'll do what it takes happy

You should do what I used to do. Keep a strip of pain-relief tablets with you for when you feel the need to take them. If the teachers are unwilling to let you take them in class, try and get a note from your parents that will allow you to take pain relief. Your parents would want you to be comfortable in school, especially if you're on your period. You can also try to get a note for missing gym/physical education or else explain that exercising is painful for you. If the teacher is a grouch who'd make you do it anyway, threaten to complain to your parents that the teacher ignored your request. It worked for me. I never had to do PE again (ever). Lol. Also, make sure your supplies of sanitary towels/tampons doesn't run out. If you're running short, quietly ask a female teacher for emergency assistance. They will understand. Hope this helps. P.S- when you get home, a hot water bottle, pyjamas and a good film always helps you relax (with your favourite snacks too. Lol.) =o)
