can I get a passport without a parent in michigan at the age 16. I dont live with my dad and I would like one for traveling!

You'll need both parents with you to get a passport if you're under 18. It's a federal law, so doesn't matter what state you live in.

(My wife & I both went to renew the passports for our kids, and yep, both parents must be physically present & able to sign). If one of your parents has full legal custody, then you might be able to get one without the other parent present at the signing, but you'll need to bring proof of the custody status with you.

I just got my passport. you have to have one parent be present and sign it if your 16, which I am .. plus you shouldn't be leaving the country by urself anyways.. thats retarded
