Kids passport

We have 2 kids both with passports. I suspect my wife has intentions of taking the kids back to her home country. I have the passports filed where she can't get them without me. I suspect she is trying to get them replacement passports without me...

knowing. What should do I do? She has the ability to take the kids and dissapear overseas so this really worries me.

There is not much you can do I don't think, although the passport office may be suspicious of her trying to get a new passport if the old one has not expired. You may be able to contact them and just basically get them to make a note that your wife should not be allowed to issue a new passport in her name. You really need to try a resolve the issue with her though. Why would she want to take the kids away from you? If you are struggling in your marriage or something could you try counselling? It is always best to try and sort the root of the problem. I mean, would you be willing to make trips with your family to your wife's home country perhaps once a year/ every 6 months or so on to try and keep her happy?

The only other thing I could suggest is to contact the police if she goes missing with them and you find their passports gone and you can't get in contact. They may be able to contact the local airports and try to prevent her getting on a plane.

I don't know if both parents permission is legally required to take kids out of the country. If not it should be, especially if they are underage US citizens.
