Aspertame which is in all diet soda and some of your canned food is known to cause cancer and also triggers brain tumors. Most doctors who go to medical school do not take nutrition which is the study of the body. Reason it only offers 1/8th of a credit. An average person consumes 150# of sugar per year and sugar immobilizes your immune system. Aspertame also contains rat poison. Betcha didn't read that in your ingredients! If it's less than 10 grams it's not on the label.

It could just be true, but there are so many food scares and most of them are just hype, so how on earth could we choose which ones to believe and which to ignore?

Aspartame is not a poison of any kind and has been deemed safe by the FDA. There are lots of chain mails and hoaxes going around about it but it's all bunk.

Be aware, however, that some people can be sensitive to aspartame and get migraines. In this case, Splenda might be a better choice.

Well, my uncle is a doctor too, and he said aspertame can definitely lead to cancer in high doses. And diet drinks are NOT good for you.
